Added. We stayed at the Intourist hotel on Gorky Street which i think has been demolished now and they changed the name of the street to Tverskaya Street. I did so much on the trip. We went to a park nearby that housed the Space programme and other museums, and out into the countryside to see small wooden churches with beautiful icons inside. We went to the Moscow state circus, saw Swan Lake at the Bolshoi, visited the Kremlin museums and was awed by the treasures in there and rode on the wonderful underground metro. The best thing was a horse drawn sleigh ride through the woods in the snow. One of my most enjoyable holidays. I expect it's changed in some ways since I was there :)
