There are places like these scattered across Ontario and Québec, well off the beaten baths, and yet close enough for convenience if you look. I've been to a couple of them, near Ange-Gardien once thanks to a friend of my father, and near Rosseau for a cousin's wedding. I've passed through others as part of my parents' vacation travels as a teenager.

As for the local weather? Yesterday, we had everything from sun to rain to ice pellets to snow. The old anglophones' "April Fools' Day" tradition seemed to hold true for weather.
