Great pictures of another town with much that is interesting to see and with an equally interesting history.

The carpets are fabulous and I was interested to see the weaving looms. The region where I live in Manchester (formally a part of the historic County of Lancashire but now known as Greater Manchester) is in the heart of what was once a huge textile manufacturing district - mostly cotton and wool mills. Manchester is widely thought of as the world's first industrialised city. Many of the mills where I live still exist and have been converted to luxurious apartments and offices. I'm really pleased they weren't all demolished as they are impressive buildings.
