What a fabulous covered market, lovely architecture, too. The market hall in my home town of Derby still has a market hall but it's Victorian and a splendid example of the type but not as wonderful as Tashkent's. I'd always be buying dried fruit and nuts from that stall. The closest experience I'd had for many years of a shopping destination that large was GUM, which was quite different to the Chorsu. In fact GUM is now probably very different to how it was in the 1960s and 70s. These days shopping malls are built that are huge.
