Tarkovsky's film meant "Stalker": there is an episode where the characters ride a draisine for a long time past an abandoned industrial zone, and then there were a lot of all sorts of garbage scattered in the water (and scattered with meaning). They say that on the set of this film, the director installed almost every blade of grass so that it made some sense in the frame.
