Date: 7 January 2025 12:19 (UTC)Here, like many other countries, the Ministry of Defence deals with war, although the Prime Minister announces any intention of behalf of the King (royal prerogative). We had the war office until 1964 when it was transferred to the MOD. The Prime Minister, parliament, The Chief of the Defence Staff, senior military leaders and others discuss (and debate) what action will be taken. I always imagine there's many disagreements!
